On February 24th, the somber reality of the second year of war in Ukraine weighed heavily on my mind. The ongoing war had brought nothing but pain and devastation to the Ukrainian people, with countless refugees fleeing their homes, infrastructure destroyed, and senseless loss of life.
Two years ago, as news of the war reached me, I couldn’t help but feel a deep sense of concern for my family and the missionaries we had in Ukraine. The thought of their safety in such a volatile and dangerous situation constantly worried me. The early days of the war were particularly harrowing as reports of escalating violence and uncertainty flooded in.

The images of destruction and suffering painted a bleak picture of the situation on the ground, and my heart ached for those caught in the crossfire. Knowing that some of my own family members and our missionaries were in Ukraine only added to my anxiety. I felt a sense of helplessness, wishing I could do more to ensure their safety and well-being amidst the chaos of this war. The weight of their uncertain fate hung heavy on my heart, a constant reminder of the harsh realities of war.
Despite the turmoil and concerns that gripped my heart, I found peace in the belief that God’s love would provide comfort and strength to those affected by this war. And indeed, God’s grace and love were with us. It was a time of uncertainty and fear, but amidst the chaos, I held onto the hope that there was a greater plan at work, a plan guided by divine love and compassion. This belief sustained me through the hardest moments, reminding me that even in the midst of war, pain and suffering, there was a loving God watching over us, offering peace and support.

As the war rages on in Ukraine, many people are suffering and in need of help. The need for love and compassion has never been more urgent, as countless Ukrainians are in desperate circumstances. In the midst of these dark clouds, the message of God’s love shines as a beacon of hope, offering God’s peace and reassurance to those who have lost so much. It is through acts of kindness and generosity that we can truly make a difference in the lives of those affected by conflict, spreading the light of Christ in a time of darkness. By showing them the love of God and telling them about Jesus, we can bring a little bit of sunshine to their cloudy days. They need help, and not just any help, but the kind that warms the heart.

Our Bread ministry remains steadfast in its mission, extending a helping hand to those in need, particularly the elderly in Ukraine. Through our efforts, we are able to provide not only sustenance for the body but also nourishment for the soul. By sharing the message of Jesus as the Bread of Life, we are spreading love and hope for those in need, particularly the elderly who may be facing challenges in their daily lives.
Thank you!
God Bless you.
