“No one cares how much you know, ‘til they know how much you care.”

This week those words have been echoing through my mind. Do we care about people with special needs, or do we just ignore them? God has made us to care and to reach out to this segment of society that we tend to just ignore.

The ministry needs to be taken to the needy. The ministry needs to reach out to the less fortunate in the society. The ministry needs to send out team of volunteers to bring comfort and to help the people with special needs.

The ministry needs to be sent out to the aged homes and to the orphanages. The ministry needs to go to the refugees and the destitutes. The ministry needs to go to the physically challenged and to the people with disabilities.

This summer in Ukraine, we’ve been reaching out to those living with disabilities, giving them a chance to not feel left out in the world. Our ministry is about helping them realize that everyone has a place in God’s plan and that God made us all different so we can learn from one another.

Thanks to the generosity of friends who supports our ministry, we were able to not only help individuals with various disabilities find some healing during the Summer of Hope but also give each person some fun activities that they can look forward to while still getting them away from their isolating environments.

During the summer we were able to hold two runs of our summer of Hope camps for those dealing with various disabilities as well as those caring for their family members.

We had 130 campers and nine new conversions and 27 total converts during the summer, including 16 who grew in their faith, up from nine this time last year.

Can you believe what God did? What an incredible time of growth!

Three people were baptized.

Waking up early together for breakfast, listening to devotions together and challenging ourselves with various activities made for one amazing week of fellowship.

Our friends had an unforgettable time at our Summer of Hope camps this year which allowed them the opportunity to care for each other.

Thankfully, we have such a great missionaries and leaders on hand helping us to take care of things that might otherwise burn us out.

We’re so happy that the Lord has blessed us with such incredible times!

Thank you all for joining us in prayer for the Summer of Hope camps to be a point where lives are changed!

Gratefully,

Pastor Vitali Yuchkovski
