Once again, this year, we’re opening our doors to children from Ukraine and other post-Soviet countries. These brave Ukrainian children have witnessed events no child should ever experience, and we are committed to providing them with a safe haven where they can feel God’s love, experience peace, and know that someone cares about them.
Our camps are more than just a fun summer getaway; they’re a place where these children and youth can truly feel cared for and understood. We want to empower them by reminding them that even when things seem dark, there’s always God’s hope.
We’ve learned that art and storytelling are very helpful with these children. Getting them to create something beautiful with their own hands helps them process their experiences. Sitting around a campfire and sharing stories is like wrapping their hearts in a warm blanket. It’s more than just preaching—it’s building genuine connections and showing them that they’re loved and supported.
The Gospel message we shared during arts and crafts sessions touched him deeply, and it was uplifting to see how these teachings intertwined with his emotional healing journey. As he created colorful paintings and crafts, it became clear that he was expressing himself creatively and processing his feelings and experiences in a safe space.
Moments like these are so special. Every smile, every small victory, and every step forward on this journey is a testament to God’s divine work in transforming lives.
They remind us that even the smallest acts of love and kindness can create ripples of change, bringing God’s love into people’s lives and inspiring us to continue this life-changing ministry of bringing hope to those in need. Dima’s story is one of many examples of the impact of our Summer of Hope camps. Each year, we witness young hearts being transformed by God’s love in truly inspiring ways.
It is humbling to witness the healing and growth that takes place before our eyes. As we uplift, support, and engage with these children day after day, I am reminded of the power of God’s love and the healing journey of transformation and renewal.
The healing touch of God is evident in the laughter shared, the friendships formed, and the hope ignited in their young hearts.
