His divine power has granted to us everything pertaining to life and godliness, through the true knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and excellence. For by these He has granted to us His precious and magnificent promises. (2 Peter 1:3-4).
God’s Word is full of promises that reassure us of His love, His power and His desire to take care of us. These precious words from our heavenly Father can fill us with supernatural hope and courage to fully trust Him, no matter what circumstances we face.
God wants us to grow in Christlikeness, and since Jesus came not to be served but to serve, this is our missionaries’ ambition as well. Is it costly? Yes. It can be sacrificial, inconvenient, and exhausting. Sometimes our missionaries feel limited by health, financial resources, abilities or age. But they remain steadfast to our mission. They are motivated by love and a desire to honor the Lord, they often don’t have to look for ways to serve Him because He puts opportunities right in their path. They simply lay down their own agendas and desires in order to make themselves available for whatever the Lord would have them do.
I often hear that one of the reasons they have grown weary in serving is because they can’t immediately see the good they are accomplishing. However, the Lord sees and knows, and He will never forget their service and the love they’ve shown in His name (Heb. 6:10). Their labor is not in vain.
What a high and glorious calling Russian Missions has as servants of Christ! May you be blessed and encouraged reading a selection of updates on our faithful missionaries.
Your Brother in the Lord,
