Where children’s lives are changed and their faith grows. Does such a place exist? It’s definitely a reality! It’s Safe Haven Summer of Hope Camps!
As I write to you, something very inspiring is happening in Russia, Ukraine and Moldova. Our mission is seeing children grow in the love of the Lord and having a great time while learning, doing and sharing. Children from all over Russia make their way to one of our free camp sessions. Where they reunite with friends and spend what some of them said is the best week of the whole year!
A week at Safe Haven Summer of Hope Camp is the ultimate camping experience like no other.
More applications are coming into our office daily and we are now projecting to offer a respite from the everyday challenges for 1,000+ at-risk children. Some of our campers have never been out of a city before and when they first arrive, they can be overwhelmed by all the new things God’s natural world reveals.
Our experienced, patient volunteer counselors are able to coax the kids to spread their wings and within just a few days we can see real changes in their self-esteem. We also have a lot of campers who come year after year, and it is really great to see them interact with the other and make them feel comfortable.
A typical action packed week includes: outdoor games, swimming, hiking, arts & crafts, campfire, Bible stories, nature trails and much more! Each week is full of new discoveries as we learn what God has in store for these children. Our dedicated counselors are prepared to help these children find God’s answers to tough questions through daily Bible studies and personal devotions. Throughout the week, campers will build character and personal confidence; learn the importance of teamwork, form lasting friendships and create memories that will last a lifetime.
Over 90% of Christians come to know the Lord before the age of 15. Christian camping is a special way to impact today’s youth for the Lord. God is raising up a new generation of believers in Russia—and what a privilege it is that Russian Missions can help in that work. For only $50, you can provide a full scholarship to summer camp for one at-risk child.

We want these children to know that we will always be there for them. Our teams share with the kids how special they are, how much God loves them and that we do too. Safe Haven Summer Camps are the highlight of summer for most at-risk children.
Our camps provide: new friends, spiritual growth, outdoor adventures, exposure to God’s creations and lasting memories. I’d like to share a report from last year’s fruitful camp season.
